Grayson Ottaway 870999 Posted October 28, 2019 at 05:48 AM Posted October 28, 2019 at 05:48 AM (I posted this in General too) Yes I'm old fashioned but I have a super fast XP rig that only runs FS9 brilliantly. Has all my fav planes and scenery. I was unable to fly for a long time -- Squawkbox changed server addresses. Took me a while to get server settings sorted for Squawkbox - realise its set to go in new year - and can now connect and fly. Problem is no voice! AFV just will not install on XP - its missing the required .NET 4.7.2 file and it cannot be installed. Vatsim boss has advised me that XP is not supported at all. Have tried vPilot and others but they too won't work. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm happily controlling on Euroscope with AFV but would like to fly again. I've been part of Vatsim since it first began! My thanks!

Andreas Fuchs Posted October 28, 2019 at 02:41 PM Posted October 28, 2019 at 02:41 PM Have you tried running swift 32bit in Distributed Mode on a machine with Win 7 or newer? This should work. Or you could start by running Squawkbox and the AFV-client on that newer OS and remote connect to FS9. But as we know SB will be a temporary solution only.
