Hello,

 

Before an IP Address can make a request to the SSO system, it requires approval. I was wondering what the requirements are that make an IP Address approvable.

Hi Roel,

 

To be approved, an nslookup of the IP address must return a DNS name which corresponds to the registered domain on SSO. The DNS must also correspond to the public site (if nslookup 'p[Mod - Happy Thoughts]es' then we'll try accessing the site and only if it is the public site that is returned will the IP be approved).

 

For cases of websites which are using Cloudflare services, we may ask for some proof that shows which domain the IP address corresponds to. If you want to avoid us denying it and asking for stuff, you can just send some proof over directly to web(at)vatsim.net at the same time you request the IP approval.
