Carl Rasmusson 1295126 Posted November 4, 2019 at 09:23 PM Posted November 4, 2019 at 09:23 PM Hi, I have problems with transmitting due to that my mic will turn itself off after a few minutes on the network. Can fix the problem by restarting the client but having to do this every 5 minutes is not very convenient. I have reported this problem before and then got the tip to “run as an administrator” witch worked at the time but does not work any more. Any help would be appreciated! And again thanks for an amazing product!
Justin Shannon Posted November 4, 2019 at 09:57 PM Posted November 4, 2019 at 09:57 PM What do you mean when you say "my mic will turn itself off"? Does the physical device shutoff or does xPilot just stop recognizing it? When this happens, does Windows still recognize it as an active microphone device? Do you receive any error messages in xPilot when it happens (i.e. a voice server disconnect, etc.)? What microphone device are you using? Carl Rasmusson 1295126 Posted November 6, 2019 at 12:51 PM Author Posted November 6, 2019 at 12:51 PM Did some testing on this and what seems to be happening is that Xpilot and any other program such as discord or just the settings tab for microphone in windows stops taking any sort of input from the mic. It still recognizes it as a microphone device but does not pick up any audio. I get no error message from Xpilot or any other software. I am using the mic om my headset that is a HyperX cloud 2. Kind regards Carl

If other apps are being affected by your microphone issue, then it's not an xPilot issue. Carl Rasmusson 1295126 Posted November 6, 2019 at 03:29 PM Author Posted November 6, 2019 at 03:29 PM With “It” I’m referring to windows and Xpilot, the device is still there in both as in I can select it and windows and xpilot recognizes it but do not pick up any audio. What the problem will do is so that the mic does not pick up any audio until I remove and plug in the USB cable again which is why it’s affecting other apps like discord. But the problem only “starts” as in the microphone stops picking up audio, when i have xpilot running otherwise the mic does not stop recording audio. So if I'm understanding you correctly, this issue isn't isolated to just xPilot since it affects Discord as well. Carl Rasmusson 1295126 Posted November 7, 2019 at 09:33 AM Author Posted November 7, 2019 at 09:33 AM The mic will never stop receiving audio when using discord (at least for the now 3 years i have been using it) Only time the mic will stop receiving audio is when using Xpilot. What i wanted to show with the discord example is that when I have used Xpilot for a few minutes and the mic have stopped receiving. No other software will be able to receive audio. So the problem itself is not that specifically Xpilot can’t receive my mic when the problem arises. But that it seems to be Xpilot that in some way breaks my mic. Justin Shannon Posted November 12, 2019 at 04:38 AM Posted November 12, 2019 at 04:38 AM Do you have the same issue if you use the standalone AFV client? Controller (C3), Los Angeles ARTCC Developer: xPilot, vATIS
