Martin Mueller 814490 Posted November 11, 2019 at 05:55 PM Posted November 11, 2019 at 05:55 PM Hello! Since I'm using the new VATSIM audio on vpilot, my aircraft sound will be automatically reduced if anybody is speaking over the com radio. I checked out windows settings and Loudness Equal is disabled. What can I do?
marcus holmes Posted November 12, 2019 at 12:01 AM Posted November 12, 2019 at 12:01 AM I had the same problem when I first used the new voice codec with Vpilot. What you need to do is adjust the volume of P3D and Vpilot in Windows via the volume mixer in Windows, what I found was Vpilot sound was overpowering the sim sound. Here are screen captors from my volume settings, give them a try and see how it goes for you.

Lance Williams Posted November 30, 2019 at 02:43 AM Posted November 30, 2019 at 02:43 AM Same issue here and it is more than just adjusting volume levels as mentioned above. Somehow AVC regardless of whether it is vPilot or xPilot is taking control of other sounds even though I have disabled all enhancements in Sound preferences. I have "Do Nothing" checked as well and no matter what, as soon as there is comms in vPilot or xPilot all other system sounds are lowered. Thank you, Lance W. Hans Jaspers Posted December 8, 2019 at 01:34 PM Posted December 8, 2019 at 01:34 PM In my case it's the other way around: all works well for a while but the all of a sudden my comm-sound is lowered. Sim still on the same volume, controllers and other pilots like a whisper. I also have all windows options disabled as far as sound enhancement / lowering volume when communication is detected etc. When I turn up the volume of my headset in the volume mixer (Windows), after a few transmissions the sound is back where it's been before the whole thing started creating tinnitus for over an hour... I've searched all forums etc but no luck. Any suggestions are more than welcome!
Darren Erickson 1427489 Posted December 12, 2019 at 12:11 PM Posted December 12, 2019 at 12:11 PM I cannot find the described option to disable effects - it isn't in the Advanced Sound Options under Sound under Settings (nor under Sound.... I've looked quite extensively). My issue is that on every received transmission the audio gets quieter over a period of about 5 seconds. (If the pilot speaks for more than 5 seconds I can't hear what they're saying anymore). But if the pilot lets up on the mic the next transmission again begins at full volume but gets very quiet very fast. I typically don't have other audio flowing into the headset when I'm expecting control instructions, but I do pipe through audio using VLC Media Player and do not have the same issue. I'm using VRC 1.2.6, and as a pilot it also occurs in XPlane using XSquawkbox. My AFV is 1.6.32. I use a Plantronics DA70 converter into a Plantronics headset. I also have Realtek audio (disabled Stereo Mix) speakers feeding a pair of speakers, I have NVIDIA HDMI output to my monitor which I don't use, and a digital output which I don't use. I'm going to try disabling the ATC effects on the next session and see if that changes anything.
Darren Erickson 1427489 Posted December 12, 2019 at 12:13 PM Posted December 12, 2019 at 12:13 PM Should also have said that the rate of fading after each transmission begins is equal, and I do have the volume for the AFV client set at 98% of normal and headset volume at 100%. (I reset it to 98% just in case there was something about the AFV volume control that was limiting).
