Geoffrey Kent 949299 Posted August 24, 2006 at 07:03 PM Posted August 24, 2006 at 07:03 PM Hello everyone, my PC goes mute after I've been flying online for about an hour. The symptoms are, not surprisingly, that my FS sounds and all other PC sound is muted. I've checked the normal Windows master volume control and none of the audio outputs indicate that Mute is on. I've also tried running a DirectX diagnostics routine dxdiag and also reinstalled DirectX 9. But the problem persists. The problem arose only after I started flying online - all was well before that in 6 months of offline flying. And it's consistent, happening on every online flight and always well into the flight. So what's different in my setup when I fly online? Only that SB3 and ServInfo are running. I know I can use text when this happens, but I'm losing not only voice but all the attention-getting clicks and buzzes that warn of an occurrence - like a text message arriving, or an important FMC announcement. I'm still fairly new at this and I need all the clicks and buzzes I can get. So, what's happening - any ideas? By the way, I'm not the only one with this problem. It's also reported in the British Airways Virtual forums. Geoff
Lennart Vedin Posted August 25, 2006 at 01:48 PM Posted August 25, 2006 at 01:48 PM Maybe the PC-sound get overloaded when use both FS and VATSIM voice. Try FS setting sound quality set to low. / Lennart Vedin /
