APPLICATIONS OPEN: CZQO Deputy FIR Chief (ZQO2)

Gander Oceanic is seeking applications for the role of Deputy FIR Chief (ZQO2). This is a vital role within Gander, and is the second most crucial management position in the FIR. (Notice: Applicants do not need to currently hold an oceanic endorsement in order to be eligible for the position).

 

Position duties and responsiblities:

 

Reports to: Gander Oceanic FIR Chief (ZQO1)

Responsible for: [Mod - Happy Thoughts]isting the FIR Chief with his/her general duties, and delegation of tasks.

 

Duties:

- Receives reports from all departments and forward to the FIR Chief

- [Mod - Happy Thoughts]ists with the monitoring of the day to day operations of the FIR and [Mod - Happy Thoughts]ist the FIR Chief where required

- Monitors the status and review schedule of FIR policies and official docomeents

- [Mod - Happy Thoughts]ists other staff members in the operation of their departments

- [Mod - Happy Thoughts]umes the role of Acting FIR Chief in the event of a temporary absence of the FIR Chief

- Attends quarterly staff meetings

- Able to [Mod - Happy Thoughts]ist with any other tasks as requested

- Maintains a regular online presence within the FIR, including on all social media channels

 

The ideal candidate must:

- Hold C1 rating or equivalent, or higher

- Be able to respond to emails and relevant notifications in a timely manner

- Be available to communicate via different mediums to support people of different cultures and backgrounds

- Be a member of good standing within VATSIM and their home division

- Have previous experience in any leadership role, internally or externally to VATSIM

- Have proficient command of both written and spoken English

- Be available to attend an interview

 

Command over one or more foreign languages is considered beneficial, although not a prerequisite for the position.
