Andreas Fuchs Posted December 14, 2019 at 07:37 PM Posted December 14, 2019 at 07:37 PM Yes, you can do this! I do use swift for TowerView and it is very simple to do. https://dev.swift-project.org/w/help/spc/towerview/ Tutorial videos re swift installation, setup and TowerView : I think you can use xPilot for it, but I haven't tried that yet myself. If you have further questions, drop me a line here. Andreas Fuchs Posted March 16, 2020 at 10:37 AM Posted March 16, 2020 at 10:37 AM Have you tried connecting according to xPilot's manual? http://xpilot.clowd.io/docs Cheers, Andreas Member of VATSIM GermanyMy real flying on InstagramMy Twitch streams of VATSIM flights and ATC
Mark Doyle Posted April 13, 2020 at 12:35 AM Posted April 13, 2020 at 12:35 AM Start euroscope as usual. Launch X-Plane and X-Pilot, once you've loaded into the sim type .towerview into xpilot. You should now be connected as an OBS. Developer: vatsim.net | community.vatsim.net | estvacc.org
Todd Blanchette Posted November 11, 2020 at 02:58 PM Posted November 11, 2020 at 02:58 PM For anyone wondering, only the latest beta release of Euroscope supports the .towerview function in xPilot. I busted my head on this for a while until someone pointed it out to me. The hard part is that it looks like it connects just fine, traffic just doesn't show up, and no warnings are given. I didn't want to update to the newest Euroscope in case it messed up access to my FIR's sector files, so I downloaded Swift instead. It works for me, but it can be a pain to set up. Kyle McKenzie Posted March 26, 2022 at 10:13 PM Posted March 26, 2022 at 10:13 PM I'm wondering about towerview not working. I think it's because velocity was released, and towerview can't yet accommodate it. When I connect up, the planes don't move, they just stay where they were when I first connect. Does anyone know why it does this, when it will be fixed/how to fix it? thanks.
Andreas Fuchs Posted March 26, 2022 at 11:55 PM Posted March 26, 2022 at 11:55 PM Euroscope needs to have an updated version of the FSD server code implemented. Jonas Kuster Posted March 27, 2022 at 11:00 AM Posted March 27, 2022 at 11:00 AM As of now, FSD should provide data for pre-Velocity and Velocity capable clients. ES just can't handle Velocity data packages yet. I don't know how this works exactly on a technical level, but I assume the pilot client used for tower view needs to request and forward this "old" data packages, so that ES can display things properly. Until ES is updated, it's maybe a question whether a pilot client will switch to the "old" way when a tower view connection is initiated. I think that's how swift pilot handles it when users choose the option FSD (private), it will receive and distribute pre-Velocity data packages: Edited March 27, 2022 at 12:33 PM by Andreas Fuchs Cheers, Andreas Member of VATSIM GermanyMy real flying on InstagramMy Twitch streams of VATSIM flights and ATC

It's sort of the reverse of that ... ES needs to request velocity data from the server, so that it can pass it on to the connected pilot client, so that the pilot client can display things properly. 1 Developer: vPilot, VRC, vSTARS, vERAM, VAT-Spy Senior Controller, Boston Virtual ARTCC
