Esben Madsen 1447299 Posted January 2, 2020 at 08:27 PM Posted January 2, 2020 at 08:27 PM Hi guys! I´ve just got a new headset in Christmas Gift: a SteelSeries Arctis 3. When I got it I wanted to make a flight with it, but when I called up delivery for a radio check, the answer was the same: "Unreadable". I was getting more and more frustrated, but then he sent me a soundclip of my voice, when I called up and I will give him, that it sounds like someone from outer space trying to call him up. And the more strange thing is, that if I go on Discord, TeamSpeak etc. I couldn´t sound clearer as they said. Bonus Info: It goes via cable, no Bluetooth. When I go into the xPilot-settings my input voice is in the middle of the green bar every single time I speak normally, so I don´t understand what´s happening. Anyone, who has a solution for me? Greetings, Esben
Daniel Mckee Posted January 3, 2020 at 08:58 AM Posted January 3, 2020 at 08:58 AM Because one should not have both clients installed in plugins this may be the cause of the problem. Even if you only start just one, because the other is in your plugins it can confuse the system. Best solution is to decide which client you want (personally I don't know why you would want both?) and remove the other from plugins. You do not need to uninstall from your drive, just remove from your plug ins folder. Just an idea.
Esben Madsen 1447299 Posted January 3, 2020 at 01:43 PM Author Posted January 3, 2020 at 01:43 PM Thanks for the answer Daniel! I have now tried it with two different headsets in only one clinet and uninstalled the other one. Now I´m using xPilot... But it still doesn´t work, but thanks for the tip! Dace Nicmane Posted January 3, 2020 at 02:45 PM Posted January 3, 2020 at 02:45 PM Does it have one audio jack or two? I had a SteelSeries Siberia headset with one jack that was working perfectly with every other program except VATSIM. I tried many different things and in the end was told the ones with one audio jack are made for game consoles, not for PCs and that it wouldn't work. I can't confirm whether it's true or not. It was some time ago and now I was gonna try it with the new audio system to see if anything has changed. My problem was too low volume, though, not strange sounds. Good luck with yours. Esben Madsen 1447299 Posted January 3, 2020 at 08:27 PM Author Posted January 3, 2020 at 08:27 PM Hi Dace! Thanks for replying! I´ve tried with another headset, that´s also connected via one jack. But mine is a laptop, so there´s no way, that i can plug in a two-jack headset. Before the new codex it was working perfectly fine with a one-jack headset, so I don´t know... Justin Shannon Posted January 5, 2020 at 01:55 AM Posted January 5, 2020 at 01:55 AM It's difficult to say what exactly the issue is. Have you verified that your audio drivers are up to date? Another thing you could check is the sample rate/bit depth of your headset. Open the properties of your microphone device and look in the "Advanced" tab for the default format and try changing it to 16 bit, 48000 Hz if not already selected.
