Dean Purcell Posted January 20, 2020 at 09:51 PM Posted January 20, 2020 at 09:51 PM Where can I find out how to properly fly VFR GA aircraft into and out of CYTZ? Up the Irons!!
Andreas Fuchs Posted January 20, 2020 at 10:41 PM Posted January 20, 2020 at 10:41 PM Hmm, in what sense? Are you looking for charts or official information about the airspace and where you are supposed to fly? Check the charts: https://torontofir.ca/airport-charts/ And Skyvector is also a great resource to check for airspace structures: https://skyvector.com/?ll=43.62844704421108,-79.39624519610061&chart=301&zoom=1&fpl=%20CYTZ%20undefined Cheers, Andreas Member of VATSIM GermanyMy real flying on InstagramMy Twitch streams of VATSIM flights and ATC
Dean Purcell Posted January 20, 2020 at 10:54 PM Author Posted January 20, 2020 at 10:54 PM Thanks Andreas, I am looking for information regarding airspace around CYYZ and how to properly fly into CYTZ in a GA aircraft. Up the Irons!!
Andreas Fuchs Posted January 20, 2020 at 10:57 PM Posted January 20, 2020 at 10:57 PM Then check out the airspace map, then you'll know where you can fly at what altitude to stay clear of airspace C, for example. Tomas Hansson Posted January 21, 2020 at 03:22 PM Posted January 21, 2020 at 03:22 PM Toronto airspace is fairly complex but if you are going in as GA, you have the option of staying below controlled airspace until you are fairly close to CYTZ. Once you get close you will need to talk to CYTZ Tower, CYYZ_DEP (Toronto Terminal), CYYZ_APP or TOR_CTR (in that order) to get cleared into the Cl[Mod - Happy Thoughts] C. It is a beautiful approach that I have flown a couple of times in real-life (any many times in the sim). https://skyvector.com has available sectional charts and https://fltplan.com has the airport charts that you will need.
