Bernard Nieberg 1476143 Posted February 9, 2020 at 10:57 PM Posted February 9, 2020 at 10:57 PM Newbie here! I have been reading through the vast quantities of info and awaiting the arrival of a newly ordered headset before I actually connect and take a flight. I am using P3Dv4.5 with Active Sky within which I have checked “Vatsim weather”, so I have that figured. My question regards traffic settings within the sim. To see only Vatsim traffic injected by vpilot and not AI traffic do I set P3D general and airline traffic to 0? Also must I disable any external traffic programs I have installed? Cheers and thanks! Also must I disable any external traffic programs I have installed?! Short answer -- yes and yes. Long answer -- with X-Plane, only one plugin at a time can have control of AI traffic, so you'll see threads in the xPilot, Swift, and XSquawkBox sub-forums telling people all the time to remove plugin folders for AI traffic and other pilot clients. With FSX and P3D I don't believe this is an issue. So it's more of a "recommendation" than a "requirement." But in general terms you don't want to have traffic floating around that only you can see -- it can cause confusion when you're asked by VATSIM ATC to report traffic in sight and follow it on a visual approach, or, when you believe you're in conflict with traffic that is only appearing on your own sim. Cheers, -R.
