Jack Helms 893473 Posted March 3, 2020 at 09:53 PM Posted March 3, 2020 at 09:53 PM Hello anyone. Brand new to VATSIM and so ignorant of SO many things. I have been wondering a whole lot about the FSX simulator and the transponder. In reading the IFR training material, there is mention of IDENT and Squawking Code C. I'm pretty sure that I do not have any way to hit an IDENT button on my radio stack in any plane in FSX. Wondering how you fly IFR within the VATSIM environment and use your sim radio the way they use in RW. Maybe someone can lead me to the answer to this problem and can get me closer to fly IFR on the web. Thank you in advance for advice. Brian Wilks Posted March 3, 2020 at 10:03 PM Posted March 3, 2020 at 10:03 PM Good afternoon Jack - and welcome to Vatsim. If the transponder in your FSX aircraft doesn't have the capability to set C or IDENT, you can also perform these actions by using the Pilot Client (the thing you use to connect to Vatsim) instead. If using vPilot - one of the most common clients - the docomeentation shows you how to do this ..... it's about half-way down the list of instructions in the attached docomeent. Hope this helps, Brian. https://vpilot.metacraft.com/Docomeentation
