xpilot keeps connection alive when terminating xplane

yesterday I teminated xplane, expecting xpilot to disconnet as well ( since I can not connect either if xplane is not running)

 

a few hrs later i was manually termianted by a controller for not being active for 30mins... ( duh )

 

I guess this can be regarded as a bug in xpilot ?
