Ismail El Moussati Posted March 28, 2020 at 03:52 AM Posted March 28, 2020 at 03:52 AM Hi all, I used to fly the CTP mostly with a slot, but never did it without. This time i do not have one, i would like to know if there is still a chance to fly without a slot, but is VATSIM will provide us a route for none slot pilots ? or just we have to fly from A-B using our random NATS ? Thanks for sharing with me how this gonna be like, Ismail El Moussati Northern Africa Division Founder l VATSIM Network Supervisor Royal Air Maroc Virtual CEO Virtual AirTraffic Simulation Network
Tristan Garratt Posted March 28, 2020 at 04:45 AM Posted March 28, 2020 at 04:45 AM Hi Ismail! yes, VATSIM does provide non-event NAT Tracks. Tristan Garratt VATPAC C1
Board of Governors Don Desfosse Posted March 28, 2020 at 04:56 AM Board of Governors Posted March 28, 2020 at 04:56 AM Expect significant (e.g. up to 4 hours) delays; be grateful if no delays or smaller delays Don Desfosse Vice President, Operations
Robert Shearman Jr Posted March 28, 2020 at 03:40 PM Posted March 28, 2020 at 03:40 PM Check ctp.vatsim.net the night before the event for routing. Expect a ground delay and some in-air holding as you're worked in among the slotted traffic. EHAM is advertising no-delay departures for non-slotted traffic; maybe give them a try. Cheers, -R. Andreas Fuchs Posted March 28, 2020 at 03:56 PM Posted March 28, 2020 at 03:56 PM Rather plan departing from a non-event airport and arrive at a CTP-airport or any other airport. Expect to use a non-event NAT HLA Track. Bring plenty of fuel to cater for possible delay before landing/re-routings/lower cruise level. Robert Shearman Jr Posted March 28, 2020 at 04:47 PM Posted March 28, 2020 at 04:47 PM Expect to use a non-event NAT HLA Track. Yes, the routing for non-event traffic will not be ideal / preffered and not too direct, but will still be relatively reasonable. But again, be amenable to the fact that the routing you get won't be 100% direct. Cheers, -R.
Sterling Paulsen Posted March 30, 2020 at 12:19 AM Posted March 30, 2020 at 12:19 AM Sort of interested as to delays if flying from non-event airport to non-event airport; I'm thinking of Innsbruck to San Jose, CA.
Robert Shearman Jr Posted March 30, 2020 at 12:35 AM Posted March 30, 2020 at 12:35 AM Sounds like a reasonable plan. You won't know until you try. With this CTP slated to break all known VATSIM connection records due to the strange times we're all enduring, it's safe to say that EVERYONE involved will need to pack an extra bag of patience and understanding on Saturday. Cheers, -R.
