ANDY COLLEY 912925 Posted March 29, 2020 at 12:54 PM Posted March 29, 2020 at 12:54 PM Hi Since the latest VPilot update I cannot SQ C with the Remote with Voice client. As you can understand I use the VPilot Host mode on the FS rig and a remote client on a networked second PC. Tried this with all aircraft just to be sure, but none will squawk C. Does anyone have the same issue with Host / Client set ups ? Everything was fine prior to the last update. Thanks
Ross Carlson Posted March 29, 2020 at 03:44 PM Posted March 29, 2020 at 03:44 PM Is it only the split host/remote setup that exhibits this issue? Does it work if you run vPilot in standalone mode? ANDY COLLEY 912925 Posted March 29, 2020 at 05:00 PM Author Posted March 29, 2020 at 05:00 PM Hi Ross, Yes it only affects the remote client. Tested the standalone and that works fine. Thanks
Ross Carlson Posted March 29, 2020 at 05:41 PM Posted March 29, 2020 at 05:41 PM Can you describe for me exactly what the symptoms are? Squawking Mode C works fine for me with 2.4.5 in split host/remote mode. ANDY COLLEY 912925 Posted March 29, 2020 at 07:08 PM Author Posted March 29, 2020 at 07:08 PM Ok Host mode start on the FS rig. Start Remote client with voice on the networked PC. Host receives the connection from the Remote fine. Remote connects to the Host fine. Connect to Vatsim no errors. Click SQ C button on the remote client, but the light does not stay on. Soon as you release the button it won’t stay on. Tried a dot command on the remote client and that shows an “invalid parameter” error.
Ross Carlson Posted March 29, 2020 at 08:25 PM Posted March 29, 2020 at 08:25 PM What was the dot command you entered? Developer: vPilot, VRC, vSTARS, vERAM, VAT-Spy Senior Controller, Boston Virtual ARTCC

Ross Carlson Posted March 30, 2020 at 06:55 AM Posted March 30, 2020 at 06:55 AM That command is for setting your squawk code, not for setting mode C. There actually isn't a dot command for setting mode C. Given that I haven't heard of this issue from anyone else, I can only [Mod - Happy Thoughts]ume that you have some other add-on running that is interfering with the ModeC offset. I'm afraid that's my best guess. Developer: vPilot, VRC, vSTARS, vERAM, VAT-Spy Senior Controller, Boston Virtual ARTCC

ANDY COLLEY 912925 Posted March 30, 2020 at 03:13 PM Author Posted March 30, 2020 at 03:13 PM Hi Ross. Well, connected up today. Installed the 2.4.6 update, and now it works lol. This hobby is really infuriating at times. Thanks for getting back to me previously though, All is good in virtual world once again. The real world. Not so much. Stay safe. Ross Carlson Posted March 30, 2020 at 04:44 PM Posted March 30, 2020 at 04:44 PM Nothing changed in 2.4.6 with regards to squawking mode C, it was just a voice update. (Same is true for 2.4.5 also.) So it was likely just a coincidence that it started working when you installed 2.4.6. Glad it's working now, though!
