Have a listen to LiveATC.net or Global Tuners then a VATSIM frequency and you will find it very similar now. The simulation of the EQ has been adjusted to match a Rockwell Collins VHF-2000 Radio as well as blocking and click changes. If you do not get that experience then make sure there are no weird EQ settings in your sound drivers or other settings. Are you sure it wasn't someone with a badly calibrated mic you were listening to? We were tempted to have the option of choosing between the old and new settings, however we figured with 100% feedback from testers there would be no point, and all users will get a more realistic experience.
