Hello,

Thanks again for a wonderful plugin!

I ran into an issue today. I suspect it could have been caused by a Microsoft update that happened yesterday.

Upon start up of xPilot, I get the error "Error starting voice server connection: Exception from HRESULT: 0x88890008"

Consequently, xPilot sees my microphone and speaker devices in settings, however it does not receive audio input nor does it output audio from radio calls of other users - the audio visualization bar in settings is empty even when I speak into the mic. I am able to connect to the network and interact via text still.

I tried restarting xPilot, running as Administrator, restarting my PC, and reinstalling xPilot, with no luck.

Thanks for any suggestions you may have.

Other info:

OS: Windows 10.0.18363 Build 18363

xPilot version: 1.2.1.0

X-Plane version: 11.41r1

Well, I'm happy to say I found a solution, though I'm not exactly sure how it works.

After searching around for solutions to this particular error code, I came across the following technique on a forum that has nothing to do with flight sim:

Control panel -> Sound -> Recording

right click on device, Properties

Advanced tab

Change the sample rate to 48000 Hz, apply.

Then, switch it back to the default (44100 Hz) and apply again.

The error message was no longer present the next time I started xPilot and I was able to use AFV on Vatsim as normal.

It must have force re-started some driver or something in the background.

Anyway, the issue is resolved. Perhaps you have a better explanation of what was going on.

Thanks!
