Max Karlin 1463249 Posted April 6, 2020 at 11:16 PM Posted April 6, 2020 at 11:16 PM As of yesterday i keep getting told that my frame rate is too low, so i saw that vatsim updated and that you need higher than 20 FPS. I checked and im getting around 28 FPS and still getting disconnected. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!
Cliff DeVaul Posted April 7, 2020 at 04:28 PM Posted April 7, 2020 at 04:28 PM The only way to prevent being disconnected for having a frame rate that is too low is to adjust your settings to maintain above the 20fps limit. I aim for around 45fps when I am offline so that I have a buffer for scenery loads, weather loads, and generally high rates of traffic around me; yet with that setup I still manage to dip below the 20fps mark from time to time but not for long enough to be disconnected. The threshold is 30 seconds, that is quite awhile to be 10 or more fps under the Laminar recommended minimum for optimal performance in XP-11. Unfortunately adjusting your settings, or running fewer addons/plugins, to maintain a higher frame rate is the only solution I've found.
Robert Shearman Jr Posted April 7, 2020 at 10:13 PM Posted April 7, 2020 at 10:13 PM Copied and pasted from a post in the xPilot forum (you didn't specify which client you're using): "If you think you are being unfairly disconnected, then {...} Before you start your next flight, after your plane is loaded up, go into the settings and under the "Data Output" tab, check the "Disk (data.txt File)" option for Frame rate. This will produce a data.txt file in your root X-Plane folder, which logs each frame. Upload this log file here so {the pilot client developer} can review it." Cheers, -R.
