I got my VATSIM ID a week ago and registered for the NA and VATUSA region...but I still have not received anything from VATUSA pertaining to login. Is there something else that I have to do to trigger the new-member notification?

Cheers!

Larry

Did you follow these steps?

1. OBTAIN A VATSIM ID # AND P[Mod - Happy Thoughts]WORD.

2. After you receive your id, on VATSIM.NET make sure to join Region North America and Division United States.

3. Within 24 hours of signing up with VATSIM, you should receive a welcoming email from the VATUSA Staff with a p[Mod - Happy Thoughts]word for our website.

***This p[Mod - Happy Thoughts]word is not the p[Mod - Happy Thoughts]word to get onto the VATSIM network. It is simply to sign-on to our VATUSA website.***

The following information is intended for member who wish to become controllers in VATUSA, members who are participating as *pilots only* should disregard the following sections:

Upon completing the following sections you will be enrolled in the VATUSA Training Academy. Also, be aware that all new controllers are required to complete the courses in the VATUSA Training Academy to be able to control in VATUSA.

Submit a letter interest to enroll in the ATC Training Academy to the VATUSA Training Department at [email protected] and be sure to include your real name, CID, and email address. Once your letter of interest has been received you will be notified by email that you have been signed up to take the Basic ATC/Observer exam at the VATUSA Certification Center.

LEARN THE BASICS. Our Training Department has developed a very easy-to-use, yet sophisticated curriculum to get you up to snuff as quickly as possible. Given the complexities of realworld air traffic control, and our strong wish to try to emulate our realworld counterparts, it is too difficult for new controllers to simply jump online and try to wing it (no pun intended). Rather, I strongly suggest that you take some time to carefully review at least the BASIC Reference and audio cl[Mod - Happy Thoughts] in the VATUSA Training Website.

TAKE TEST. Once you know the content in the BASIC Reference guide, take the test on www.vatusa.org/training. This is the test that is [Mod - Happy Thoughts]igned in Step 1 of this section. You must get 80% of the questions correct. If you don't, you must wait a week before retaking the test. If you have any questions, contact the training department. You cannot proceed to the next step until you p[Mod - Happy Thoughts] the test. After p[Mod - Happy Thoughts]ing the test you will automatically be enrolled in the VATUSA Training Academy. You will receive automated notifications along the way, if you do not, please contact Craig Merriman at [email protected] for [Mod - Happy Thoughts]istance.

Please feel free to contact any member of our staff if you have any further questions/concerns...

Yes, I followed steps 1 and 2. I've not received anything yet from VATUSA per step 3.
