David Sullivan Posted April 11, 2020 at 10:38 PM Author Posted April 11, 2020 at 10:38 PM So xPilot communications work fine but am still unable to see other aircraft. I know that I need to reconfigure the csl path per the quote below, but exactly how? "Plugin configuration moved to JSON format (config file now saved within the xPilot plugin folder). You will need to configure your CSL paths, etc. again."
Justin Shannon Posted April 11, 2020 at 10:42 PM Posted April 11, 2020 at 10:42 PM Within X-Plane, go to the Plugins menu and find xPilot and open the Settings window. Reference the xPilot documentation if you need further assistance. Controller (C3), Los Angeles ARTCC Developer: xPilot, vATIS
David Sullivan Posted April 11, 2020 at 10:57 PM Author Posted April 11, 2020 at 10:57 PM First, thanks for the prompt response! I did that. Right now my csl folder is mapped as follows: Resources/plugins/xPilot/Resources/CSL What am I doing wrong?
Justin Shannon Posted April 11, 2020 at 11:00 PM Posted April 11, 2020 at 11:00 PM Do you see any errors in your X-Plane log.txt that suggests it can’t find any models? If so, try just putting “CSL\” Controller (C3), Los Angeles ARTCC Developer: xPilot, vATIS
David Sullivan Posted April 11, 2020 at 11:20 PM Author Posted April 11, 2020 at 11:20 PM So I did get the following error from the log: xPilot/XPMP2 18:55:24.284 [ERROR] CSLModels.cpp:967/CSLModelMatching: MATCH ABORTED - There is not any single CSL model available! So I changed the path as you suggested, now I'm getting this for all models: xPilot/XPMP2 19:12:33.088 [WARN] CSLModels.cpp:531/AcTxtLine_OBJECT_AIRCRAFT: Line 150: Only supported format is OBJ8, ignoring model definition OBJECT __MD80:MD80.obj The CSLs were the same used in prior versions of xpilot??? Justin Shannon Posted April 11, 2020 at 11:23 PM Posted April 11, 2020 at 11:23 PM What CSL model package are you using? Only OBJ8 models are supported now. Are you able to see any aircraft now? Justin Shannon Posted April 11, 2020 at 11:32 PM Posted April 11, 2020 at 11:32 PM Are you using Bluebell CSL or X-CSL models? Or a different set of models? Controller (C3), Los Angeles ARTCC Developer: xPilot, vATIS
David Sullivan Posted April 11, 2020 at 11:34 PM Author Posted April 11, 2020 at 11:34 PM I believe they are X-CSL models...definitely not bluebell
Justin Shannon Posted April 11, 2020 at 11:50 PM Posted April 11, 2020 at 11:50 PM The format of those models appears to be the old OBJ7 format, which is not longer supported. The format of an OBJ8 CSL model looks like this: OBJ8_AIRCRAFT B738_SWA OBJ8 SOLID YES __Bluebell_Boeing/B738/B738_SWA.obj VERT_OFFSET 3.31 AIRLINE B738 SWA If you compare it to what you have, you will see the differences. Try downloading the Bluebell CSL model pack. Controller (C3), Los Angeles ARTCC Developer: xPilot, vATIS
