nayan mehta Posted April 26, 2020 at 02:40 PM Author Posted April 26, 2020 at 02:40 PM Hi Ross, Sorry for my delay, it doesnt actually allow me to click on the settings tab, as soon as I click OK on the error message vPilot closes. Ross Carlson Posted April 26, 2020 at 04:28 PM Posted April 26, 2020 at 04:28 PM Ahh, right, sorry, I should have realized that from your screenshot. I'm a little confused because vPilot has had this check for a required simulator for a very long time, it did not change with any recent update. Did you do anything with your system such as move P3D to a new location, or did you remove some other supported sim such as FSX, FSX:SE, or another version of P3D? Ross Carlson Posted April 26, 2020 at 05:50 PM Posted April 26, 2020 at 05:50 PM (edited) I can assure you that something has changed, whether or not we are aware of it. 😄 Let's see if we can figure out what it is. In your vPilot installation folder, open up vPilotConfig.xml, and scroll to the end. You should see a section that lists model matching configurations for each simulator that has been detected on your machine. Mine looks like this: Can you post a screenshot of yours? Be sure to include the opening and closing <ModelMatchingConfigs> tags in the screenshot so that I can be sure that I'm seeing the entire section. In addition to that, in the same folder, you should see one or more files with names similar to this: ModelScanResult-Fsx.xml You should see one for each simulator that has been detected. In your reply, please include the exact file name of each such file that you find. nayan mehta Posted April 26, 2020 at 06:09 PM Author Posted April 26, 2020 at 06:09 PM (edited) Thanks for the speedy reply! So I can see the issue! I have attached the screen shot of the xml and a screenshot of the folder. There is no modelscanresult (im using p3d) and as you an see no simulator type in the .xml vPilot automatically installed into this location C:\Users\Nayan\AppData\Local\vPilot Before posting here I had already tried a fresh install. nayan mehta Posted April 26, 2020 at 06:16 PM Author Posted April 26, 2020 at 06:16 PM Disregard! I have fixed it! It was my error! I was messing around with the P3D setup a few days before the update and accidentally renamed the Prepar3D.exe and put an extra character by accident. I'm guessing this meant vPilot could not pick up P3D. I have now got rid of that extra character and it works perfectly! Thank you for your help anyway! And a great job on vPilot so far! Stay safe! Ross Carlson Posted April 26, 2020 at 07:41 PM Posted April 26, 2020 at 07:41 PM Yes, vPilot checks for the exe file when it is detecting supported simulators.
