Jaap Veerman 977945 Posted October 8, 2006 at 08:39 PM Posted October 8, 2006 at 08:39 PM (edited) I am trying to fly on VATSIM in my newly downloaded Project Fokker F-70 (fokker.avsim.net - great stuff by the way!), but when I start up SB it kicks me out of FS9 altogether. This only happens with the Fokker, it works fine for other aircraft. Does anyone have a clue how to fix this??? EDIT: added url reference (and failing 4 times before getting it right... ) Edited October 9, 2006 at 03:12 PM by Guest KLM977 - specialised in short-haul flights to/from Amsterdam Schiphol (737/F-70/F-100)
Paul Biderman Posted October 9, 2006 at 11:51 AM Posted October 9, 2006 at 11:51 AM Well, I fly the Project Fokker F100, and offer it in my VA, and I have no problems using SB and VATSIM with it. It's probably a gauge file. Try reinstalling the plane and panel. If trhat doesn't help, check the PF support page as there are some topics about problems with compatibility. http://fokker.avsim.net/support.htm Paul Biderman ZAN DATM
Jaap Veerman 977945 Posted October 9, 2006 at 03:08 PM Author Posted October 9, 2006 at 03:08 PM Thanks Paul. Why do you think it is the gauges? The Fokkers (no pun intended ) fly beautifully offline, no problems there. Is it common to have the gauges conflicting with SB3?? I did look at the support before posting but I could not find anything there. In the meantime I have seen numerous other issues discussed in the various forums about SB3 misbehaving, I will try some of the offered suggestions there. Still, the funny part is it behaves very well with my Wilco/FeelThere 737-series... Further suggestions are appreciated!! Paul Biderman Posted October 9, 2006 at 04:14 PM Posted October 9, 2006 at 04:14 PM FS9 and SB3 are sometimes a bit picky about each other. Almost every FS related crash I have ever had could be traced back to either module/gauge files or outdated drivers for my hardware. Does SB3 work fine with all your other aircraft? If so, it's probably a file specific to the F70, which is why I recommended reinstalling it. If it crashes with other aircraft, it's probably another issue. When the crash happens, are there any error messages? If you get that pop-up window about FS having to close, there would be a more info link. If you click it, it would say at the top right what file or module the crash occurred in. That info would help a liittle....maybe..... Jaap Veerman 977945 Posted October 10, 2006 at 09:01 AM Author Posted October 10, 2006 at 09:01 AM I performed a complete reinstall of FS9 and every add-on piece of software last night (yes, it took all night... ). By the time I had finished I was only able to test SB3 with the F70 for a little while, but (*CROSSING FINGERS*) it seems to work! I intend to fully test the thing tonight, flying EHAM - EGLC, hopefully without breaking down. Thanks for the help - I hope I can return the favour sometime.
