Dear pilots,

Summer is coming! Lots of pilots and controllers will start their vacations soon. Unfortunately, this summer won’t be usual like the others before, and everybody knows why. However, we don’t want to waste our time and still enjoy it staying at home and flying in the virtual sky!

VATRUS Division is happy to announce the greatest event ever! All regions of VATRUS will be involved into this 10-days event called “Cross VATRUS – 2020”!

We will start at 0700 UTC, May 22nd at Elizovo airport of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky – the capital of Kamchatsky Krai (aka Kamchatka). Kamchatka is one of the most beautiful places in Russia known for its wonderful landscapes and amazing volcanoes. The highest volcano – Kluchevskaya Sopka which altitude is 4835 meters – is the most active volcano in the world. Last eruption started on March 2nd, 2020 and still ongoing.

The first leg will end in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, on the Sakhalin Island, and then the next one will start with the flight to Vladivostok – the largest city of the Russian Far East.

During 10 days of the event pilots will visit 23 cities in Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Turkmenia. On May, 31st they will return to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. All the route has 23 legs and totally 23 000 kilometers length. Full ATC coverage will be provided all the time.
