Ben Zwebner 906832 Posted October 16, 2006 at 06:37 PM Posted October 16, 2006 at 06:37 PM I jsut did a fresh reinstall of FS. I deleted everything and I just reinstalled, no add ons, no programs, just the FS itself.. Some of the planes gauges dont show up. I dont get an error message or anything.. I checked the guage files themselves are where they are supposed to be.. I even tried installing the cernado 182 and I have the same problem. anyone have this before? and if so, how did you fix it? here is a picture for example: [email protected]
Daniel Hill 810430 Posted October 16, 2006 at 06:46 PM Posted October 16, 2006 at 06:46 PM I remember this (and more FS oddities) happened to me once a while ago when I rebuilt my entire hard drive from scratch -- and forgot to install the updated motherboard drivers after Windows installed. Could that be the case? Respectfully, Daniel Hill 810430 [Just Plain Ole' Dan]
Alan Withers 923603 Posted October 16, 2006 at 08:06 PM Posted October 16, 2006 at 08:06 PM This happens to me just about everytime I try to install a new panel/aircraft. I follow the instructions to a T - and it still fouls up, sometimes needing a re-install of FS. In my case it's usually because folders get embedded within folders. I somehow cock up the unzip commands. I'd carefully examine your gauges folder, or check for FS files elsewhere not unzipped properly into your gauges folder. Hope this helps. Matthew Horan 901577 Posted October 16, 2006 at 10:39 PM Posted October 16, 2006 at 10:39 PM If you reinstall FS9 will you lose everything. (Textures, Aircrafts, Addons) Those are seperate from the installation of FS; mind you, it might remove files vital for their operation, and its always a good idea to install addons after re-installing FS, but from what I can recall, anything you added will remain in place Matt www.vatsim.net/prc

Robert Vanderkam Posted October 31, 2006 at 09:03 PM Posted October 31, 2006 at 09:03 PM I'm glad to see others are having problems with addon aircraft. Not that I'm glad you're having problems, but at least I can see that it's not just me. I have yet to install a single addon plane in fs2k2. I gave up trying and have just purchased a copy of 2k4 so I can use defaul a/c. Brian Fuller 973577 Posted October 31, 2006 at 09:38 PM Posted October 31, 2006 at 09:38 PM It's really not that difficult. You just have to make sure you put the files in the right place if the .zip files did not use sub folders.
