Brian Beach 915973 Posted October 16, 2006 at 11:12 PM Posted October 16, 2006 at 11:12 PM First of all, we mainly use SimRoutes for our flightplans, as the ARTCCs place the preferred routes there. http://www.vatsim.net/fp/ is where you file online. As for events, unless specifically stated, events do not require reservations. Norman Blackburn Posted October 17, 2006 at 06:26 AM Posted October 17, 2006 at 06:26 AM As for events, unless specifically stated, events do not require reservations. Even if an event requires a reservation there is nothing to prevent a pilot arriving or departing from the same fields as the event. I think a better term organisers chould use is recommend. David Saunders 818672 Posted October 17, 2006 at 10:31 AM Posted October 17, 2006 at 10:31 AM Robert Looking at your post i think what you want to do is fly a CRJ rather than a B757 for example, the aircraft isnt that important really, this is just for info, what we are after is numbers ariving or departing so we can stream traffic accordingly, if you havnt booked a departure time, then its back of the queue for you iam afraid, so people who have pre booked get the priority on departure times. realops events are more a numbers game and to get large organised traffic levels with good control on to increase the enjoyment levels for everybody taking part. I hope this clears up a few points non-discript self importance signature
Robert Neary 937118 Posted October 17, 2006 at 05:14 PM Author Posted October 17, 2006 at 05:14 PM Thanks for the responses, I understand. Booking "pre-scheduled" flights apparently keeps the airspace from either being "swamped" or experiencing a lack of traffic at given times during the session. This makes sense for big events.
