Martin Weber 985033 Posted October 23, 2006 at 08:09 PM Posted October 23, 2006 at 08:09 PM Hey all, Can anyone advise me on a program(freeware) that i can use to insert approach plates into the FS9 kneeboard (something along the lines of 'FSM moving map') failing that any other type of similar program, as it would help a lot if i could have the plates on my knee board next to my navlog. i know you can print the plates/charts, but i dont really want to as space in my pc room is much more limited than space on my hard disk.. i did do a moderate search for a similar topic first so sorry if this has been addressed before! cheers, -- "When once you have tasted flight you will always walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward; for there you have been and there you will always be"
Paul O'Donnell 969350 Posted October 23, 2006 at 09:12 PM Posted October 23, 2006 at 09:12 PM I've seen some sort of application or html which you enter in the kneeboard file. Although I can't recall where I found it. I was looking for the html code that you enter in the kneeboard_keys file. However it affected my fps slightly. It had a web browser with a refresh, back, next button etc. I did find the code to enter in the kneeboard_keys file in the aircraft directory that enables the kneeboard to be a web browser, however there is no back or refresh button. So browsing websites isn;t that great. It's probably easier to switch windows and open a web browser outside of FS. I would also be very grateful to anyone who knows of such a file/application that can show charts and browse the web within the kneeboard in FS. cheers. Martin Weber 985033 Posted October 23, 2006 at 11:08 PM Author Posted October 23, 2006 at 11:08 PM thanks for the link Brian, will check it out. I would also be very grateful to anyone who knows of such a file/application that can show charts and browse the web within the kneeboard in FS. well i use FSM Moving map for that, it has an inbuilt web browser but very limited (no browser button ect) and it resets to the default screen if you alt-tab out of flight sim too, but at least you can read the news and browse the forum during those lenghty trans-atlantic flights but stay in your cockpit at the same time. if your interested you can get it + a review HERE -- "When once you have tasted flight you will always walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward; for there you have been and there you will always be"
