VATSIM Hong Kong VACC is seeking applications for the position of Manager, Streamer Relations (ACCHKG10).

 

The primary responsibilities of the position include:

• Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with VATSIM members who also regularly broadcast (or stream) their VATSIM network activities as either pilots or controllers (“streamers” hereafter) on online platforms to promote the awareness of Hong Kong VACC
• Develop partnership with streamers to attract increased member presence within Hong Kong FIR
• Coordinate with Manager, Events to provide air traffic control to streamers and their entourage on request.
• Report to the Director of Hong Kong VACC every quarter on work in progress and future plans 
• If business needs require, become the immediate head of the functional department (i.e. Department of Streamer Relations) and collaborate with Assistant Manager, Streamers and/or consultants

Position requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age at the time of application
• Be a member of the VATSIM network for no less than 12 months at the time of application
• Have a clean VATSIM record for no less than 12 months at the time of application
• Hold a VATSIM controller rating of S3 or higher
• Fulfill the requirements listed within the Hong Kong VACC Facility General Policy (HKVACC-P001)
• Have thorough knowledge of VATSIM policies and local policies of VATSEA and Hong Kong VACC
• Have a basic understanding of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
• Have highly proficient English oral and written communication skills as English is the working language of Hong Kong VACC
• Have an in-depth understanding of the local and global flight simulation streamer communities
• Be able to maintain positive communication with local streamers at the minimum in English
• Have the ability to engage a community of local flight simulator streamers in the most effective manner
• Be able to dedicate an average of 30 minutes per day to this position

 

The ideal candidate should:

• Hold a VATSIM ATC rating of Controller (C1) or higher
• Have prior experience as a streamer on major streaming platform(s)
• Have proficient written and spoken communication skills in Chinese (Cantonese) and English. Proficiency in written or spoken communication skills in languages other than Chinese (Cantonese) and English are consider a big bonus.
• Be able to maintain positive communication with local streamers in both English and Chinese (Cantonese)

As part of their application, applicants are asked to provide a VATSIM related C.V., a brief resume describing their interest in VATSIM Hong Kong VACC management work and what may set them apart from other applicants, as well as a letter of recommendation from a VATSIM staff member of the applicant's VACC/ARTCC/FIR, division or region if the applicant is not a local controller of Hong Kong VACC. Incomplete applications cannot be considered.
