Known Issue: FPS Drop with MSFS

We are aware of a problem with the new Microsoft Flight Simulator where if you run certain types of SimConnect applications (of which vPilot is one) then it causes significant frame rate reduction and stuttering. This is a problem with the release version of MSFS. It is not an issue with vPilot or VATSIM, and it wasn't an issue in the alpha and beta versions of MSFS. We have notified the Asobo dev team and they are working on it. I just put out a new version of vPilot that warns users of this issue. Once Asobo has resolved the issue, I will put out a new version which removes the warning message.

Aparently an update to MSFS coming on 27th Aug. No specific mention of Vatsim fix but hopefully it's in there. 🤞

They mention the FPS issue with Simconnect in today's development update. Patch should be released within 7 days.

SIMCONNECT

  • Significant FPS drop when using Simconnect should no longer affect the experience

The patch has dropped. It fixed the issue for me, at least.

Yes, it is now fixed. I recently put out a new version of vPilot that removes the warning.

Hey Guys, I guess that problem back on 1.13.16.0 release. I´m getting from 40fps to 17fps when I start vPilot. Only starting, the fps don´t drop, but when connect to network the fps goes down. No traffic on airport (just me).

Dear Ross,

A fix that worked foe me is to change servers in vpilot settings.

That is likely just a coincidence ... there is essentially no way that changing servers would have any effect on your sim's performance.
