You should have the Steam keys as well. Do you? Developer: vPilot, VRC, vSTARS, vERAM, VAT-Spy Senior Controller, Boston Virtual ARTCC

Gilles Bellaire Posted August 20, 2020 at 03:55 PM Posted August 20, 2020 at 03:55 PM I found the solution. The reg key is "...1.7.11.0" while my version is 1.7.12.0 I've edited the reg key with good version and it's working! Anyway, thanks to Ross for the clue. Ross Carlson Posted August 20, 2020 at 04:16 PM Posted August 20, 2020 at 04:16 PM Thanks Gilles, that's very helpful. It seems that when the sim updates itself, it does not update the value in the registry key. This means I cannot rely on the registry to determine if the user has the sim installed. I will have to look for another way. Developer: vPilot, VRC, vSTARS, vERAM, VAT-Spy Senior Controller, Boston Virtual ARTCC
Ross Carlson Posted August 20, 2020 at 04:55 PM Posted August 20, 2020 at 04:55 PM I just put out 2.6.3 which only uses the presence of the registry key to determine if you have MSFS installed. It no longer validates that the value of the registry key points to a real folder on disk. Roger Hanson Posted November 28, 2020 at 02:34 PM Posted November 28, 2020 at 02:34 PM I wouldn't worry about it Ross. He's admitted to having illegal pirated software, Microsoft will have his IP address as MSFS contacts their servers all the time so he should be expecting a knock on the door from the Police any time soon.
