Alexander Bankowski Posted August 30, 2020 at 03:05 AM Posted August 30, 2020 at 03:05 AM Im having issues installing V-pilot. Anyone can help me out with my issue? It seems that my computer or installer cannot read .dll files.
Ross Carlson Posted August 30, 2020 at 03:10 AM Posted August 30, 2020 at 03:10 AM I've seen one other report of this. What antivirus are you using? Developer: vPilot, VRC, vSTARS, vERAM, VAT-Spy Senior Controller, Boston Virtual ARTCC

Ross Carlson Posted August 30, 2020 at 03:32 AM Posted August 30, 2020 at 03:32 AM Have you tried running the installer as an admin? Developer: vPilot, VRC, vSTARS, vERAM, VAT-Spy Senior Controller, Boston Virtual ARTCC
Alexander Bankowski Posted August 30, 2020 at 03:35 AM Author Posted August 30, 2020 at 03:35 AM I didn't. It just worked! Thank you so much, Ross.
Ross Carlson Posted August 30, 2020 at 04:26 AM Posted August 30, 2020 at 04:26 AM Strange ... normally you don't need to run it as admin unless you're installing into a protected folder like C:\Program Files. I see you're installing into a folder called "Program Files", but it's on your D: drive. Did you reconfigure Windows to use the D: drive as the official Program Files location? Alexander Bankowski Posted August 30, 2020 at 04:28 AM Author Posted August 30, 2020 at 04:28 AM No, that would be my C drive. That is where Windows was installed.
Jack Hung Posted September 6, 2020 at 03:28 AM Posted September 6, 2020 at 03:28 AM Got the same issue. 1 week ago, I downloaded Vpilot, the firewall was warning me not to download the file, but I ignored and installed no problem, was using it in MSFS2020 for many times. However today I was opening Vpilot, my antivirus or firewall stopped it and deleted Vpilot. I tried to download the file and install vpilot several times, the problem just got worst and worst. Now I can't even download the file to my D drive. I have Bitdefender as antivirus. ( I tried to disable the antivirus and install vpilot, but it didn't help)
Jack Hung Posted September 7, 2020 at 02:16 AM Posted September 7, 2020 at 02:16 AM Found a way to add exception in Bitdefender antivirus for Vpilot, and the problem solved.
Brian King Posted September 8, 2020 at 01:12 PM Posted September 8, 2020 at 01:12 PM I have the same issue, trying to install the latest version. As others have found, the download triggered a warning, which I bypassed (has happened with downloading previous versions). But it will not install, as I get the same message about the file ....bbv.common.eventbroker.dll as well as others if I simply 'ignore'. I have both the antivirus and firewall switched off at present. I uninstalled the previous version before attempting to install the new one. Where do we go from here? Ross Carlson Posted September 8, 2020 at 02:45 PM Posted September 8, 2020 at 02:45 PM I'm afraid I don't know what's blocking it ... Jack said he got by the issue by adding an exception to Bitdefender. You said you switched off your protection software, so that should have done it, but if not, I have no idea. Brian King Posted September 8, 2020 at 03:30 PM Posted September 8, 2020 at 03:30 PM OK, I've got it working. I ran the vPilot uninstall.exe That doesn't actually remove the files, I imagine it simply removes it from the Registry. Then deleted all the files (also required a Ctrl-Alt-Del to close down vPilot, which was still running from previous attempts, even though it wouldn't actually fire up). Ran the set up and all seems well.
Ross Carlson Posted September 8, 2020 at 05:12 PM Posted September 8, 2020 at 05:12 PM The installer does delete the files. If it didn't, that might be because vPilot was running, thus preventing the uninstaller from deleting the files. This would also prevent the installer from updating the files.
