V-pilot Installation issues

Recommended Posts

Strange ... normally you don't need to run it as admin unless you're installing into a protected folder like C:\Program Files. I see you're installing into a folder called "Program Files", but it's on your D: drive. Did you reconfigure Windows to use the D: drive as the official Program Files location?

Got the same issue.

1 week ago, I downloaded Vpilot, the firewall was warning me not to download the file, but I ignored and installed no problem, was using it in MSFS2020 for many times. However today I was opening Vpilot, my antivirus or firewall stopped it and deleted Vpilot. I tried to download the file and install vpilot several times, the problem just got worst and worst. Now I can't even download the file to my D drive.

I have Bitdefender as antivirus. ( I tried to disable the antivirus and install vpilot, but it didn't help)

I have the same issue, trying to install the latest version. As others have found, the download triggered a warning, which I bypassed (has happened with downloading previous versions). But it will not install, as I get the same message about the file      ....bbv.common.eventbroker.dll as well as others if I simply 'ignore'.

I have both the antivirus and firewall switched off at present. I uninstalled the previous version before attempting to install the new one.

Where do we go from here?

OK, I've got it working.

I ran the vPilot uninstall.exe  That doesn't actually remove the files, I imagine it simply removes it from the Registry.

Then deleted all the files (also required a Ctrl-Alt-Del to close down vPilot, which was still running from previous attempts, even though it wouldn't actually fire up). Ran the set up and all seems well.
