ATC Training Academy Now Accepting Open Enrollment Requests

Open enrollment into the VATUSA Training Academy has officially begun. Members with the Student rating who joined the Division prior to April 17th 2006 may voluntary request to transfer into the Academy and enroll into the Basic ATC program.

 

Members who wish to enroll must use the ATC Academy Enrollment Form, located at www.vatusa.org/training/academy_enroll.html to request to transfer out of their current ARTCC and into the Academy. This also applies to those members who are no longer [Mod - Happy Thoughts]igned to a current ARTCC for reasons of inactivity. The VATUSA Training Department will approve or deny each transfer request just as an Air Traffic Manager does when a member requests to transfer into his ARTCC. It should be noted that the VATUSA Training Department reserves the right to deny any request to transfer at its sole discretion. Members that are accepted into the Academy will receive an automated notice from the Academy Administration with instructions on how to login and begin their training.

 

Members with the Observer (OBS) rating who joined prior to April 17th 2006 who wish to enroll need to submit the same form. Once the request has been made the member will be [Mod - Happy Thoughts]igned the ATC Academy Entrance Exam, to be completed at the VATUSA Certification Center. Upon successfully p[Mod - Happy Thoughts]ing the exam with an 80% or higher the member will automatically be promoted to the Student rating and will be enrolled into the Academy. Once enrolled, the member will receive further instructions from the Academy Administration on how to proceed.
