Steve Ogrodowski 876322 Posted November 20, 2006 at 02:11 AM Posted November 20, 2006 at 02:11 AM Your CID is your VATSIM ID number: 955962 Your p[Mod - Happy Thoughts]word is whatever 6-digit p[Mod - Happy Thoughts]word VATSIM issued to you. The CID (Controller-ID), PID (Pilot-ID), and VID (VATSIM-ID) are all ways I've seen to describe your number, but that's all it is. If you're still having trouble, you might need to request a new p[Mod - Happy Thoughts]word, because that's about the only possible problem ([Mod - Happy Thoughts]uming you know for sure you entered your CID correctly). Robbie Goldberg 955962 Posted November 20, 2006 at 02:35 AM Author Posted November 20, 2006 at 02:35 AM Ok thank you just one more question. When i want to listen to say (DC_CTR) I go to the communication box name the position, put in his frequency, Vox server, and the Vox Channel. I am having trouble trying to find the Vix server and the Vox Channel. Ryan Guffey 956726 Posted November 20, 2006 at 03:03 AM Posted November 20, 2006 at 03:03 AM the Vox server is most likely rw.liveatc.net and the vox channel is dc_ctr.. Some artcc's have the controllers use like DC_E_CTR then the channel would be dc_e_ctr.. The vox channel is how ever the ARTCC has the [Mod - Happy Thoughts]igned controller put in it so you may have to ask them what they have in it.. hope that makes since.. I may have worded that wierd.. if i did somebody can clear it up.. hope it helps VATSIM Supervisor
Bryan Wollenberg 810243 Posted November 20, 2006 at 03:18 AM Posted November 20, 2006 at 03:18 AM Type .atis DC_CTR and you should be presented (in a chat box with DC_CTR) with his info, i.e. voice server and room. Bryan Wollenberg ZLA!

At ZNY we use ZNY_XX XX is the 2 character code for that particular position. NY_NWK_DEP is 4N, NY_RBV_APP is 4P etc etc. It is different for every ARTCC. Best bet is to check the guys atis for his voice server and room.
