William Kuecker 989622 Posted November 21, 2006 at 10:44 PM Posted November 21, 2006 at 10:44 PM Hey guys, I have what could be a stupid question, but I'm going to ask anyway. Recently an ATC asked me to "Squawk Normal". I have no idea how to do that. Your "squawk" is your transponder code, correct? He said something like, "hit the nrm button in your sb9 console", or something along those lines... Could you guys help me?
Michael Bonertz 966129 Posted November 22, 2006 at 12:37 AM Posted November 22, 2006 at 12:37 AM Yep your squawk code is your transponder code. If you have squawkbox 3 then it wil say ident stby norm when they say squawk normal or squawk mode charlie just move your mouse over the norm button and click and when they say squawk standby or ident just point and click thats it. William Kuecker 989622 Posted December 19, 2006 at 04:27 AM Author Posted December 19, 2006 at 04:27 AM Okay, I'm really sorry, but what is Squawkbox 3? Is that in the little box that also helps you get online and everything? You know, the box with the pushback controls and everything?
John Golin Posted December 19, 2006 at 05:50 AM Posted December 19, 2006 at 05:50 AM William; What program are you using to connect to VATSIM? There are two programs at the moment, Squawkbox and FSInn. Is sounds like you are using FSInn... Have a read of the FAQ available from the pilot resource centre regarding 'Normal'. http://forums.vatsim.net/viewtopic.php?t=5345&sid=47358b084cb4da0440a6f49ccf65a997 The Pilot Resource Centre ( www.vatsim.net/prc ) is a great place when getting started, and many previous questions and problems have been explained in this resource. Hope this helps John John Golin http://www.worldflight.com.au
