Joaquin Blanco Posted October 28, 2020 at 08:35 PM Posted October 28, 2020 at 08:35 PM Just reinstalled the OS Win10 Pro Oct2020 update. When trying to install FLAi and pressing Update I get a .Net Framework error, my current version is 4.8. Have been running Win10 Pro for a couple of years and never had this error when installing FLAi. Wondering if anyone has had this issue and knows the solution. Thanks Error Message See the end of this message for details on invoking just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box. ************** Exception Text ************** System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at ArgadBay.ArgadBay.queueZIPDownload() at ArgadBay.ArgadBay.beginUpdate() at ArgadBay.ArgadBay.btn_update_MouseClick(Object sender, EventArgs e) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.OnClick(EventArgs e) at System.Windows.Forms.Button.OnClick(EventArgs e) at System.Windows.Forms.ButtonBase.OnKeyUp(KeyEventArgs kevent) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.ProcessKeyEventArgs(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.ProcessKeyMessage(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.WmKeyChar(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.WndProc(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.ButtonBase.WndProc(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.Button.WndProc(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.ControlNativeWindow.OnMessage(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.ControlNativeWindow.WndProc(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.NativeWindow.Callback(IntPtr hWnd, Int32 msg, IntPtr wparam, IntPtr lparam) ************** Loaded Assemblies ************** mscorlib Assembly Version: 4.0.0.0 Win32 Version: 4.8.4250.0 built by: NET48REL1LAST_C CodeBase: file:///C:/Windows/Microsoft.NET/Framework/v4.0.30319/mscorlib.dll ---------------------------------------- System Assembly Version: 4.0.0.0 Win32 Version: 4.8.4200.0 built by: NET48REL1LAST_C CodeBase: file:///C:/Windows/Microsoft.Net/assembly/GAC_MSIL/System/v4.0_4.0.0.0__b77a5c561934e089/System.dll ---------------------------------------- FLAi Operations Center Assembly Version: 1.0.0.0 Win32 Version: 1.0.0.0 CodeBase: file:///C:/Users/ideoplastic/AppData/Local/Apps/2.0/5RYCL8EJ.344/B5WOYRR0.8DQ/flai..tion_5ee6bb75ad7be262_0001.0000_5f296d04cccccadd/FLAi%20Operations%20Center.exe ---------------------------------------- System.Windows.Forms Assembly Version: 4.0.0.0 Win32 Version: 4.8.4250.0 built by: NET48REL1LAST_C CodeBase: file:///C:/Windows/Microsoft.Net/assembly/GAC_MSIL/System.Windows.Forms/v4.0_4.0.0.0__b77a5c561934e089/System.Windows.Forms.dll ---------------------------------------- System.Drawing Assembly Version: 4.0.0.0 Win32 Version: 4.8.4084.0 built by: NET48REL1 CodeBase: file:///C:/Windows/Microsoft.Net/assembly/GAC_MSIL/System.Drawing/v4.0_4.0.0.0__b03f5f7f11d50a3a/System.Drawing.dll ---------------------------------------- ICSharpCode.SharpZipLib Assembly Version: 0.86.0.518 Win32 Version: 0.86.0.518 CodeBase: file:///C:/Users/ideoplastic/AppData/Local/Apps/2.0/5RYCL8EJ.344/B5WOYRR0.8DQ/flai..tion_5ee6bb75ad7be262_0001.0000_5f296d04cccccadd/ICSharpCode.SharpZipLib.DLL ---------------------------------------- System.Configuration Assembly Version: 4.0.0.0 Win32 Version: 4.8.4190.0 built by: NET48REL1LAST_B CodeBase: file:///C:/Windows/Microsoft.Net/assembly/GAC_MSIL/System.Configuration/v4.0_4.0.0.0__b03f5f7f11d50a3a/System.Configuration.dll ---------------------------------------- System.Core Assembly Version: 4.0.0.0 Win32 Version: 4.8.4220.0 built by: NET48REL1LAST_C CodeBase: file:///C:/Windows/Microsoft.Net/assembly/GAC_MSIL/System.Core/v4.0_4.0.0.0__b77a5c561934e089/System.Core.dll ---------------------------------------- System.Xml Assembly Version: 4.0.0.0 Win32 Version: 4.8.4084.0 built by: NET48REL1 CodeBase: file:///C:/Windows/Microsoft.Net/assembly/GAC_MSIL/System.Xml/v4.0_4.0.0.0__b77a5c561934e089/System.Xml.dll ---------------------------------------- Accessibility Assembly Version: 4.0.0.0 Win32 Version: 4.8.4084.0 built by: NET48REL1 CodeBase: file:///C:/Windows/Microsoft.Net/assembly/GAC_MSIL/Accessibility/v4.0_4.0.0.0__b03f5f7f11d50a3a/Accessibility.dll ---------------------------------------- ************** JIT Debugging ************** To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this application or computer (machine.config) must have the jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section. Evan Reiter Posted October 28, 2020 at 11:43 PM Posted October 28, 2020 at 11:43 PM We've seen this error reported 2-3 times on Facebook with no clear solution. We have never been able to duplicate. Some things that might help based on what people have told me: Do not install into your simulator's folder but instead into a directory in Documents or similar. "I think it's a matter of different security settings for .net in the first place (I think my version is "too new") and afterwards I followed the suggestion to install it to a separate folder which made it work. I googled for the error message and found out what to edit in the registry. It's about .net security prompt set from disabled to enabled." Otherwise you could try the usual things I suggest whenever there are security-related errors popping up: Have you tried disabling any firewall/antivirus? Have you tried running as administrator? Have you tried disabling your UAC and security settings? I assume you've already tried a complete uninstall of FLAi and a re-install as well. If not, you could consider that, including removing the files. Failing that, the manual installation option, though less effective, should at least get the job done. Joaquin Blanco Posted October 29, 2020 at 04:50 AM Author Posted October 29, 2020 at 04:50 AM Managed to get it installed by changing the directory to C:\Users\username\Documents. Evan thank you for your post, it seems using an installation folder outside the AppData folder gives me a .net error.
