Dawid Reszel Posted November 14, 2020 at 05:25 PM Posted November 14, 2020 at 05:25 PM Hi, Is there a way to change the non-discrete codes for VFR and Mode-S aircraft? I've changed the symbols for the new codes, but once someone allocates one of those codes, vatSys raises an error. Secondly, is there a way to allocate those non-descrete codes to aircraft? We extensively use Mode-S identification so it's common for AC to fly with non-discrete SSR codes.
Jake Saw Posted November 14, 2020 at 08:20 PM Posted November 14, 2020 at 08:20 PM vatSys doesn't allow any non-discrete codes to be assigned. Is there a reason you currently allocate them? Would it not be better to have no code or just not assign the automatically allocated one? I'll need to add an option to disable the errors for incorrect code on Mode S couple Jake Developer - vatSys
Dawid Reszel Posted November 15, 2020 at 11:54 AM Author Posted November 15, 2020 at 11:54 AM (edited) Our policy is to explicitly assign VFR squawk to VFR tracks and Mode-S squawk to Mode-S tracks. The VFR tracks could stay with no code, as the controller can manually set a discrete SSR from the discrete VFR pool. Jake Saw Posted November 16, 2020 at 03:02 AM Posted November 16, 2020 at 03:02 AM I have added options in Misc.xml to suppress warning messages and the toggle the auto-assignment of SSR codes, see here: https://virtualairtrafficsystem.com/docs/dpk/#assr I won't be enabling the assignment of non-discrete codes as that will mess with the radar coupling logic Jake Developer - vatSys
