The VATSAF division is currently seeking applicants for the position of VATSAF6 - Operations Director (Facility Engineer)

The VATSAF Division is seeking a qualified Operations Director (Facility Engineer) to help manage and create facility files for use on Euroscope, including (but not limited to) sector files, alias files, and atis text files. The selected candidate will also assist in writing documentation to familiarize users with the proper usage of the created Euroscope files. Applicants must hold at least an S3. Experience in Facility Engineering is preferred, but not required.

Job Description:

- Reports directly to the Division Director

- Maintains and updates FIR sector files as needed within each of the vACC’s in Sub-Sahara Africa

- Works alongside VATSAF FIRs and the division staff to improve all Air Traffic Control technology throughout.

- Maintain the Division Discord Server

 Minimum Qualifications:

- Must hold a minimum S3 Rating, but C1 rating is preferred. (Total hours up to S3 will also be considered).

- Candidate must be in good standing on the VATSIM network

- Ability to create and/or modify Euroscope. Must be able to perform advanced Euroscope functions, such as working with plugins on Euroscope

- Must have knowledge of obtaining resource materials to produce Sector, POF, and Alias files.

- Ability to write documentation with FIR assistance

 Desired Qualifications:

- Familiarity with Sweatbox

- Previous VATSIM Staff Experience

- Basic coding knowledge

- Good understanding of how to create polygons

- Good understanding of V-Strips

What to Expect:

This position is NOT an entry-level position and will require significant time commitments to effectively perform the duties of Operations Director.
