hemant jup Posted December 2, 2020 at 07:49 AM Posted December 2, 2020 at 07:49 AM With CTP Westbound coming up, there's the topic of using HF. Irl, when crossing some areas over the ocean, VHF frequencies cannot be used because they are out of range, but HF frequencies can, because they bounce off of the atmosphere. For maximizing communication with Shanwick and Gander, how would I go about using HF frequencies on VATSIM with the xPilot client?
Andreas Fuchs Posted December 2, 2020 at 12:18 PM Posted December 2, 2020 at 12:18 PM Hi Hemant(?), so far direct HF-tuning is not supported, but the AFV-code is able to translate certain VHF-frequencies to their corresponding HF-frequencies. Download AFV's user guide and read up on chapter 5: https://audio.vatsim.net/docs/2.0/features Cheers, Andreas Member of VATSIM GermanyMy real flying on InstagramMy Twitch streams of VATSIM flights and ATC
