Marc Sieffert Posted December 14, 2020 at 10:11 AM Posted December 14, 2020 at 10:11 AM Hi I am planning to make some flights in Philippines from RPLL to either RPUS or RPUH. Both of these destinations have no arrival procedures (no Stars, no approaches). What I am currently doing I set up the SID that I use from RPLL then I take the best airway to get to these airports and do my best to arrive smoothly to the airport. What is the best practice to approach these airports without procedures? If there is a Controller would he always give radar vectoring for the arrival if there is no procedures? Thanks!! Andreas Fuchs Posted December 14, 2020 at 10:34 AM Posted December 14, 2020 at 10:34 AM These seem to be VFR-only airfields. Use the Grid MORA or MSA (if known) and descend to the lowest safe altitude. If you are VMC, proceed VFR (after IFR cancellation) to your destination. Alternatively use an IFR approach procedure of another airport nearby to descend below clouds and then proceed VFR to your destination after cancelling IFR. 1 Cheers, Andreas Member of VATSIM GermanyMy real flying on InstagramMy Twitch streams of VATSIM flights and ATC
