Alex Ying Posted December 23, 2020 at 07:21 PM Posted December 23, 2020 at 07:21 PM This is a bit of a feature request: For airspace and sector boundary development, it'd be useful to be able to have a Dev Mode where we could load a custom datafeed file in order to test how different boundaries light up when controllers are online without having to actually log on to VATSIM and wait for the datafeed to update. It would also enable testing and debugging of multi-sector interactions without having to find multiple people to log on. Ross Carlson Posted December 23, 2020 at 08:16 PM Posted December 23, 2020 at 08:16 PM Hi Alex, great suggestion. So great, in fact, that I have gone back in time and retroactively added such a feature to past versions. If there is a file called test_data.json in the working directory (usually the same folder as the exe) then it'll parse that instead of the data received from the network. It will not automatically detect changes to that file, so if you make a change, you just need to trigger a refresh with the button on the toolbar, or wait for the next automatic refresh.
