Michael Oberg 990957 Posted December 2, 2006 at 10:28 PM Posted December 2, 2006 at 10:28 PM I followed the instructions and downloaded FSUIPC and dropped the FSUIPC.DLL into the FS modules folder (it is there) and when I start fs and go into the modules folder and click on FSUIPC I do not have the icon that says "register an application program" jusr the "register FSUIPC" and "Register WS FSUIPC" and of course the key doesn't work on those. Any suggestions would be appreciated
Norman Blackburn Posted December 2, 2006 at 10:34 PM Posted December 2, 2006 at 10:34 PM Make sure that the key you have is for the relevant version of FS. The keys are not interchangeable between versions 3.x and 4.x Norman

Brian Fuller 973577 Posted December 3, 2006 at 12:14 AM Posted December 3, 2006 at 12:14 AM Try to fly without it, maybe 3.71 no longer requires applications to register with it.
Brian Fuller 973577 Posted December 3, 2006 at 12:17 AM Posted December 3, 2006 at 12:17 AM "Otherwise, like 3.71, this version is identical to 3.709, which has been available here for so long, but has now been modified to remove the application access checking." It's been removed.
Norman Blackburn Posted December 3, 2006 at 11:27 AM Posted December 3, 2006 at 11:27 AM I am using version 3.71 and the "pilot resource center" on Vatsim has a key code listed that doesn't work? wre can I get the correct one What is the code for? Is this for Squawkbox perhaps? Either way this key is only for registering an application with FSUIPC. It doesnt complete the act of registering FSUIPC which requires a key purchased from Simmarket or Project Magenta. As Brian has mentioned however, in current versions of FSUIPC this process has been removed. Norman
Brian Fuller 973577 Posted December 3, 2006 at 09:20 PM Posted December 3, 2006 at 09:20 PM I think the confusion is the PRC shows registering Software with FSUIPC, and since 3.71 removed that requirement, this step is no longer needed. I think if the PRC was updated to reflect this, then new users like Mike won't be confused on this step of the Software process.
