Kyle Steever 810905 Posted December 9, 2006 at 07:22 PM Posted December 9, 2006 at 07:22 PM Running Vista RC1 Build 5600 on my brand spanking new pc. FS9 crashes on load into the 3d world (can load to aircraft select but when i hit fly it crashes). Running directx 10 and the latest catalyst drivers from the ATI webpage. Tried FS9.0 and 9.1 and no luck with either. Any clues? vZME Air Traffic Manager ... --- ... ... --- ...

Kyle Steever 810905 Posted December 10, 2006 at 07:07 PM Author Posted December 10, 2006 at 07:07 PM No luck. I turned everything on flightsim to the minimums and it didnt even load. On the flip side: I reinstalled FS and ran it immediately after install and it loaded into the game fine, but nothing was moving. I could see the panel and the textures all loaded but nothing moved at all. Switched to spot plane and could see only the top half of the screen, bottom half was obscured by some sort of graphics error. I closed it and reponed it and it crashed. Restarted and it continues to crash. Tried running it in Windows XP SP2 compatibility mode and no help there, as well as Running it as an administrator, no luck there either. Any hints? any clues? vZME Air Traffic Manager ... --- ... ... --- ...
Brian Fuller 973577 Posted December 10, 2006 at 10:06 PM Posted December 10, 2006 at 10:06 PM Sounds more like a Graphics Driver problem, or maybe a DX problem.
Kyle Steever 810905 Posted December 11, 2006 at 02:21 AM Author Posted December 11, 2006 at 02:21 AM Yeah. uninstalled my graphics completely and went down to a standard vga adapter. FS ran fine but ran at 10FPS and minimal settings. Phone call with ATI at 6AM tomorrow since their phone lines open at 7AM eastern (i'm central) vZME Air Traffic Manager ... --- ... ... --- ...
