Nelis Coetzee Posted March 20, 2021 at 11:50 AM Posted March 20, 2021 at 11:50 AM (edited) We have some exciting news for the members from East and Central Africa. This unfortunately comes with some sad news too. VATSSA, together with consulting with Region, is shutting down the ACCEAC vACC. However, this is done so that we can start a Brand New, Central Africa vACC, which will be known as ACCRAC (Région Afrique Centrale), which will incorporate the old ACCEAC as well as adding Angola, CAR, Congo Brazzaville, Congo DRC, Gabon ,Malawi and Zambia to the vACC. We have decided to do it this way, so it will be a new vACC from the ground up with new ideas, a fresh start, etc. and so that members, that did not have any vACC previously, can also get involved in staff for the new vACC. Current ACCEAC members do not have to worry, you are still part of a vACC and your transfer to the new vACC will be automatic. Your membership on the Facebook page will also not be affected. The only thing that will change is the name and the logo. We will also be advertising staff positions this week on the VATSIM forum, so please keep an eye on the forums, especially members now part of the vACC which previously had no vACC affiliation. Here is to ACCRAC and we wish you and your members good luck and looking forward to seeing the Central African Airspace start lighting up with ATC.
