Mark Galpin 988741 Posted December 14, 2006 at 11:29 PM Posted December 14, 2006 at 11:29 PM Ive only been a member for a couple of weeks i read most of the posts, the lessons and laws etc ive even sat at EGSS and listened in i really havent got the guts to fly yet. However i read on these boards somewhere that you can take off or land at night while your settings are on daytime as long as you file it in your flight plan great i can try a take off i thought except no ! I set the time and date in the free flight section to summer daytime 2pm and click fly......when its loaded im in daytime hooray ! then it freezes reloads scenary twice yes thats twice and im back to whatever time it is at night in real life this even does it when im not connected to Vatsim the only time i can fly in the daytime is in the daytime and thats impossible cos of work it never used to do this any ideas ? Brian Fuller 973577 Posted December 14, 2006 at 11:44 PM Posted December 14, 2006 at 11:44 PM That is weird, because even the option Use System Time for Freeflight won't force you to fly at the system time. What happens after you are actually on the runway, then you go up to the options and change the Time then? If you can't figure it out, maybe set your PC time different so you can fly during the day. Mark Galpin 988741 Posted December 15, 2006 at 12:01 AM Author Posted December 15, 2006 at 12:01 AM Exactly the same it loads in the daylight graphics then pauses and reloads from 68% terrain settings and im back to dark and system time then it pauses again and reloads from 68% and its still dark i just cant see why it has to reload the terrain twice im in the process of updating my graphics drivers but it cant be that cos it used to work fine before. I dont know whether its linked but my FSX said there was something wrong with the activation code on start up yesterday so i had to use the microsoft code deleter and reinstall wouldnt mind but its two DVDs for heavens sake cant believe you can only input the product key on installation rather than from somewhere in the game itself and yes i do own a genuine copy as i had to call microsoft because the same activation error occured a week after i bought it. So thats 2 activation errors and a sim that will only fly at night ...........X-plane anyone ?

Brian Fuller 973577 Posted December 15, 2006 at 06:06 PM Posted December 15, 2006 at 06:06 PM Go into the Settings and uncheck Use System Time for Free Flight. Can't hurt to try.
