VATSIM online traffic down?

G'day,

As of this morning AEST (Sydney) I have no traffic data at all. No ATC clients nor any pilots online. This is with VAT-spy as well as VATTASTIC and the online VATSIM map (https://vau.aero/fsmap/?osm).

The browser is the latest Firefox.

Is this something on my end (my connection/cookies), my ISP (faffing around with domain names) or a Vatsim issue?

Would appreciate any help.

Cheers!

Tony

VATSpy has been updated to use the new feed for some while now. If you update your VATSpy, you will see planes again.

I just tried it myself and in theory it should work (manipulate the VATSIM.loc file manually; do not configure the legacy proxy as a proxy server in ServInfo). However, ServInfo appears to get stuck while downloading the file?

Edit: It seems that ServInfo requires the connection to be closed after each transfer. I will change the connection reuse policy on the proxy server accordingly. In addition to .ini/.loc file manipulation ServInfo will be able to connect by simply configuring the proxy URL as a custom network. Note that I am not sure how useful ServInfo will be without some kind of approximating controller location coordinates server-side (VATSIM unfortunately removed them in JSON v3). ServInfo is highly outdated; unless there is some really up-to-date airspace file it will probably miss a lot of stations on the map.

I just released version 0.80.2 which should now be compatible with ServInfo.

There are two different options to configure ServInfo to use the proxy, see https://github.com/dneuge/legacy-status-proxy-vatsim/discussions/3

Great tool thank you. Now I can have my beloved Servinfo operational again :)

Quick question, if someone can answer. Is the WX working for you?  I mean if I go to the Map and press the Wx button I get the window No Wx data exist download them? Pressing Yes it seems to download something but there is nothing shown at the map and  on the WX window the only airport it downloads for L? region is LFQA? Same if I am watching US space. Asking for C/K/M/S/T/ metars it gets only One for each identifier.

I don't have ServInfo on my PC, but if it retrieves its weather information from the NOAA then there might be the glitch.

There have been some recent problems with the NOAA servers.

Do someone know what parameters we have to enter in the config-file of the EFASS-programm to have the Vatsim-traffic shown again? Until now it had links like DATAURL=http://info2.vroute.net/vatsim-data.txt. But that doesnt work anymore and the datas are outdated.

How do you find an airport on that list.  Seems to a raw data dump in no apparent order!

Hoi Franz,

could you try installing the application that Daniel has created

and then insert the "local URL" into this line?
