Ever think you want a challenge on the network sometimes?

Ever think challenges offered are too easy?

Minneapolis has one that can change all that.

Is there a backup plan in the case of bad weather?

If I recall correctly, some ARTCCs that have done VFR events in the past have encouraged participating pilots to not use any internal or external weather programs; just fly with the default "Clear Skies" weather theme.

Josh,

I have thought of this...we will use real-world weather.

1. If its marginal VFR - adds in another variable to the mix!

2. If there are IFR conditions along the routes, we will have to reschedule and/or cancel. We'll see.

Here are the results! I will contact the winners individually.

I would like to apologize for those who found this event too hard. I tried to make it really tricky, and I guess it was too hard for some. But thanks who beat all odds, beat the weather, and came out!

Jets

First place (Winner): Cornell Lloyd, 2 hours 10 minutes and 3 seconds! Congrats Cornell!

Jets were not so popular, the only other finisher was Daniel Estevez who finished close behind at 2 hours 25 minutes and 46 seconds. Way to go guys!

Props

First place goes to Jimmy Roland who sped through the event at 1 hour, 15 minutes, 15 seconds!

2. VERY CLOSE! Allan Bunt, 1 hour, 15 minutes, 37 seconds

3.Dale Mudie finished at 1 hour 15 minutes and 38 seconds. Wow.

4. David Souza, 1:16:00

5. Christian Brettrager, 1:18:49

6. Jesus Oliveira, 1:20:04

7. Bruno Cote, 1:21:28

8. Frode Gilberg, 1:35:23

9. Gary Mascelli, 1:36:07

Congrats to everybody! That was a really fun event on the controller side of things, and we hope everybody enjoyed their ZMP experience.

Happy new year!
