The Events Coordinator is an important link between the facilities within and outside of VATCAR, as well as the pilots visiting the Caribbean, and is crucial in promoting VATCAR and its events to the rest of VATSIM. The duties listed below are delegated responsibilities that lie with the VATCAR Marketing & Events Team to fulfill. An Event Coordinator is expected to be able to commit at least 1 year on the job, and should take this into consideration before applying. REPORTS TO: VATSIM Caribbean Marketing & Events Director, VATCAR7 RESPONSIBLE FOR: All event related activities of the VATCAR Division, including but not limited to the following duties: Facilitate the smooth and active operation of the Division Events. Responsible for the regular organizing, promotion, and execution of Division events. Provide leadership to other VATCAR FIR event staff and assist them organize events. Initiate collaboration with other VATSIM FIR's and Divisions for events on behalf of VATCAR. Develop relationships with other VATSIM FIR's and VA's and as well as provide support for their events. Actively promote VATCAR events through the VATCAR website, social media, VATSIM Forums, and by communicating with VA's and sending them invitations. Must maintain the VATCAR Website, Twitter and Facebook pages and update it with new events. Make quarterly reports of the Events and submit it to the VATCAR Marketing & Events Director. Maintain the ATC Roster for Division events. Maintain effective communication and work closely with other staff members. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: The successful applicant will meet the following minimum standards: Currently holding a controller rating of S1 or above. Having a good disciplinary record on VATSIM. Must be a VATSIM Member for at least 1 year. Committed to maintaining a strong presence on VATSIM while holding the staff position. Must spend at least 4-5 hours per week on event duties. Previous experience within any FIR/vACC or VA will be considered a bonus. A commitment to maintain a strong online presence throughout their appointment, in addition to a minimum of 5 hours per week working specifically in the role of Event Coordinator. The ability to communicate clearly and professionally through various mediums to people of different experience levels and cultures. Fluent in the English language. Familiarity with Spanish, Dutch or French is a bonus. Experience creating banners etc using graphic design software (Photoshop, Illustrator) is a bonus.
