Pepijn Colenbrander
Hi, When I log on to VatSys and listen in on ATC (just observing for now), I notice that the transmitting (when pilots and controllers talk) is very choppy. I have tried to see which server has the best ping, I tried downloading the standalone AFV, but that just seemed to worsen things. Does anybody have any suggestions on what I should do? Or does anybody know what the issue is? Thanks, Pepijn Colenbrander Pepijn Colenbrander VATPAC | Membership Staff
Jake Saw
Hi Pepijn Do not run the AFV Stand-alone Client at the same time as vatSys. What are your computer specs? Edited June 21, 2021 by Jake Saw Jake Developer - vatSys
Pepijn Colenbrander
Hi Jake, Since yesterday, yes, I do run it at the same time. But before I started noticing this problem, i did not have the standalone client installed. Specs: Processor Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU N3350 @ 1.10GHz 1.10 GHz Installed RAM 8.00 GB (7.58 GB usable) System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor Thanks, Pepijn Pepijn Colenbrander VATPAC | Membership Staff
Jake Saw
What you’re experiencing is probably a performance issue. That CPU is a likely bottleneck. Jake Developer - vatSys
Pepijn Colenbrander
Could be, but that would be weird since when I was under a different region and using Euroscope with the Standalone, it worked perfectly fine... I might consider using euroscope instead of vatsys, do you happen to know where I can find tutorials? Anyway, Thanks for your help! Jake Saw
vatSys is doing a lot in the background and relies on multithreading / gpu acceleration to run smoothly. Euroscope is a very different beast. Goodluck Jake Developer - vatSys
Pepijn Colenbrander
Thanks, I've just had good experiences with euroscope in the past, so hoping I will have it this time too. Pepijn Colenbrander VATPAC | Membership Staff
