Andrew Adams 990834 Posted December 25, 2006 at 04:02 AM Posted December 25, 2006 at 04:02 AM Hey Gents, Im new to VATSIM, its been a great experience so far. I am having a hard time figureing out how to get my voice to work. I have no problem talking to ATC, but how can I get my private voice to work, i.e. talking to other pilots without interfereing with ATC transmissions? Could someone point me in the right direction? I am using teh latest version of FSINN. Thanks in advance. Happy Holidays! Andy
Michael Smith Posted January 3, 2007 at 09:23 PM Posted January 3, 2007 at 09:23 PM welcome to VATSIM 1st did you read the manual? I would post it on the FSinn forum http://www.mcdu.com/forum/
Andrew Adams 990834 Posted January 3, 2007 at 11:28 PM Author Posted January 3, 2007 at 11:28 PM Mr. Smith, I have read the manual. Maybe I didnt express my question clearly. How can I chat among other pilots on one COM while still chatting with ATC on the other COM. Is this even possible with FSINN, because I have gone through the MANUAL as well as many other independent posts on the topic and nothing seems to work. Thanks for your help. Robert Vanderkam Posted January 4, 2007 at 05:50 PM Posted January 4, 2007 at 05:50 PM I'm curious about this too, and am hoping that an answer will be forthcoming even though I have NOT read the SB3 manual. I know that SB3 has a private chat function and my VA has instructions on how to monitor it, but I'm awfully curious about how it can allow you to Tx to ATC using the Nav radios and one push-to-talk button. I suppose at some point I will read more but in the meantime, if anyone can provide a quick answer to the forum, I'll bet Adam and I are not the only ones that would like to know how this works, in principle and in reality. If the answer is available by reading somewhere, a link or description of that material would be even more appreciated. Matthew Horan 901577 Posted January 5, 2007 at 12:08 AM Posted January 5, 2007 at 12:08 AM Rob, With SB3, you can select a PTT for private voice, and your Radio Communications.. I use left Control for ATC, right control for private voice. Believe this option is under START - Options - Voice (or something similar) Matt www.vatsim.net/prc
