Spender Vondel Posted July 30, 2021 at 09:32 PM Posted July 30, 2021 at 09:32 PM (edited) Hi, I've had my first ever IFR VATSIM flight after a good month of Airbus (A321) training and watching some AviationPro's VATSIM Youtube tutorials. That was a whole other experience than all the offline flying I've been doing! Apart from reading back an incorrect frequency, forgetting to set my transponder to TA/RA, incorrectly pronouncing my airline and being pretty slow overall @ EDDB.... I kind of did it, hehe 🙂 The biggest difficulty I experienced is that not all airports have ATC, so I had to choose departure and arrival airports that I was not familiar with. Interpreting new aerodrome maps, SIDs, STARs and ILS approaches all the while keeping situational awareness, ATC communication and handling/flying the airplane was pretty challenging. But it was a very rewarding experience and will definitely do it again. Cheers! SV Edited July 30, 2021 at 09:39 PM by Spender Vondel
