Bangladesh vACC is looking for a motivated individual that possesses a high degree of energy and commitment to serve as the Director ATC (ACCBGD2)

Note: This is a key position, candidates are expected to fulfil the position stated above for a minimum of 1 year from the time of appointment.

Position Title: Director ATC
Reports to: Bangladesh vACC Director (ACCBGD1) and VATWA Director ATC Training (VATWA3)
Location: Bangladesh vACC and all ATC facilities within its area of control

Expectations:

Functional:

  • Updates ACCBGD1 on routine training progress and is responsible for the efficiency and effectiveness of the Bangladesh vACC ATC training program.
  • Works in collaboration with VATWA Training staff and other VATSIM ATC training organizations to remain abreast of VATSIM ATC standards and best practices.
  • Functions as an ACCBGD HQ staff member. Attends periodic meetings to report on training activities and issues and to stay abreast of matters which may involve ACCBGD Training
  • Develops, curates, and provides access to all Bangladesh vACC training materials (including website training content). 
  • Facilitates review and audit of ATC training content as and when appropriate.
  • Works directly with other vACC staff, mentors, students, and controllers on training issues and provides ATC expertise to aid them in their decisions on operational issues.
  • Ensures that training programs are planned, conducted, evaluated, and improved on a continuous basis.
  • Monitors the performance and activity of Bangladesh vACC Controllers and take constructive actions as needed.
  • Acts as a spokesperson for ATC Training activities.
  • Understands and drives appropriate metrics to assess Controller performance during training as well as CPTs.
  • Support VATWA ATC Training Director (VATWA3) as and when necessary.

General:

  • Supports the Bangladesh vACCs mission of Creating a Positive Environment to Learn, Control, and Fly.
  • Serves as a Leader to coach and motivate controllers while upholding a culture that builds exceptional internal and external pilot experiences.
  • Supports and participates in initiatives that give back to the VATSIM community.
  • Holds self and others accountable to high performance standards while providing pilots with memorable experiences.
  • Has ability to listen to feedback and take constructive action.

Selection Criteria:

Functional

  • This position requires someone who is a strong communicator, listens well, focuses on collaboration, is adaptable, engaging and patient. Empathy with sound knowledge and expertise in virtual ATC work is a key combination that is necessary to be successful in this position.
  • Strong multi-tasking and problem-solving skills along with spatial awareness and good coordination skills is necessary. This position is expected to help ATC trainees develop the ability to work quickly, accurately, calmly, and decisively under pressure.
  • An aptitude for working with technology is a must.
  • Ideal rating is C1, however, candidates having an S3 rating with otherwise exceptional attributes may be considered. Candidates with a current or previous I1/I3 are considered as a bonus.

General

  • Must be an active member of the network in good standing with no prior disciplinary record on VATSIM within the last 12 months at the time of applying.
  • Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills in English. Ability to speak/understand languages spoken in VATWA nations will be an added advantage.
  • Must be able to work in a multi-cultural environment where English is not the first language.
  • Must be available for regular correspondence (via the primary means of e-mail), as well as routinely checking VATSIM forums and other outlets for official notices.
  • Be a member of VATSIM West Asia Division & Bangladesh vACC or is willing to transfer if selected.
  • Demonstrate sound knowledge and understanding of VATSIM as well as local (Division and vACC) policies  (e.g., Code of Conduct/Regulations/Privacy/Safeguarding Minors/GDPR).
  • Comply with the Bangladesh vACC active membership requirement as controller as per Bangladesh vACC Constitution and dedicate sufficient time fulfilling vACC staff duties every week.

Candidates can expect an initial evaluation of their application after which qualified candidates may be contacted for a comprehensive online interview.
